The lost stars

It's a routine now, going to terrace, sitting on the terrace floor and gazing at the beautiful night sky.

You know? There's nothing beautiful about the sky that you see in cities as compared to the sky you see in remote places. They are beautiful. The star studded sky, the literal mess of stars, actually takes away all the troublesome thoughts and puts our mind to rest in peace, like Rest in peace when alive.
But hey, resting in peace when alive is something so unusual.. No? It's an oxymoron I guess. Yes that's the magic that star studded sky does to us. It takes us places we don't actually belong to.

But the city sky, it turns our mind into mess.. Staring unstoppable into the foggy clouds covering the sky, you actually couldn't help but recount your worst experiences, nightmares and memories and how you've made through all of these. It turns you into someone you've been running away from.

Today while I was counting down my achievements, I realised.. That I failed as a human, because the city sky up there has more stars than the people in my life who've genuinely loved me, who've accepted me with my flaws and appreciated me even when i emerged as a failure at certain points of my life.
I have failed, and my life is more deserted than the sky above me.

A lost Dream

Today I met my Dream again. Dream that walked in my life when I was 8, Dream that left me when I was 18. Dream that gave me a cause to live this life. Dream that taught me how to fight. How can I forget it's glowing eyes, That leaded me in my aimless nights. How can I fail to recall it's firm hand, That held me when I was about to cry. My Dream. It had the same old smile as it had when I was a child. I still desired to grab it's body with both my hands. But it was too late. My Dream was walking to the woods of dark, While I was trapped in the cage of responsibility and Fate.                                                                                              - Swati Singh         ...
